RDS (Room Data Sheets) are used for capturing the requirements and information of each space in a project. They are typically created by the client during the briefing (also called architectural programming in the US) phase of the design process, but may also be updated during the design process to reflect changes in requirements, or to provide more complete and precise overview for those who are responsible for the project’s delivery.
The Room Data Sheets SmartTool is an efficient and accurate sheet view and scheduling utility for creating room (or space) sheets of data within a Revit project. The tool can create 3D, plans, elevations and schedule views for rooms or spaces that are parametrically named and numbered on new sheets.
The default setting is to employ the Room Numbering template as well as the Sheet Format created by the Revit project however, a different sheet name and style may be selected from the Tool Options tab. Click “Load Configuration …’ on the toolbar to replace the current settings with previously saved configurations. This reduces the amount that manual work is required for various rooms and types.
The tab ‘Naming’ permits the user to choose whether the selected room/space is included in the sheet’s Name text box that appears on the https://searchstreams.info left side of the screen. The ‘View Name’ field is the text that appears in the title bar of every view, and “View Increment” specifies the increment between each view when it is placed on the sheet. The ‘Spacing’ feature allows you to control the spacing between each view. The “Exclude Titles from Estimating View Sizes for Sheets’ choice will prevent titles being included in the calculation of the number of views on sheets.
